The 20th edition of the Dance Business Benefit Event (Soirée Danse-Affaires) will be held on May 17th 2012 at 6 PM at Agora de la danse. This event will be chaired by Christiane Germain, Co-President of Groupe Germain inc. More than two-hundred people from the financial world will unite for one of the most original and stimulating evenings in the art world. Under the sharp and benevolent guidance of Montréal Danse’s Artistic Director Kathy Casey, people from the business community will take the stage and perform a few chosen excerpts form the company’s repertoire. A unique evening and an exceptional Networking occasion not to be missed!

Held every spring, The Dance Business Benefit Event is dedicated to the development of contemporary dance, helping Agora de la danse to pursue its mission and reinforce the bonds between the business and dance communities.The funds that are raised during this evening are dedicated to the Agora de la danse’s Creation Fund who then invests them in the creation of contemporary dance works. The Creation Fund encourages the talent, the originality, the breath of dance artists and artisans.

Contributing to Agora de la danse’s Creation Fund results in the encouragement of talent, originality and the vitality of artists in the dance community, thus improving their quality of life.

Dance Against Violence (Danse contre la violence) is a unique non-profit organization in Quebec. The organization offers women who are domestic violence survivors dance workshops that empower them to regain control of their bodies and their self-esteem. Once again this organization partners with our Dance Benefit Event and 15% of the proceeds will be directly used to fund these workshops.
