Winter and Spring 2012 / To think or to surrender oneself / to quench one’s thirst for things that are different

To you who will soon enter the intimacy of a new season at Agora de la danse, let it be known that this is a haunted place. Haunted by considerably talented artists and collaborators who have a passion for local creation. For them, Agora de la danse is many things: it is the moment when they come to perfect their work during artist residencies, it is a relay between the audience and remarkable pieces of work, and finally a benchmark in the course of an artistic career. A home base for some, a new stop for others, the passing seasons are all punctuated by surprises as well as continuity: all are marked by talent. Agora de la danse is also an “open table”, a “gastronomic” stop where audience members come to quench their thirst for things that are different, to think or to surrender to the universal language of movement, to the beauty of singularly creative worlds.
