Eve is the human of tomorrow: male, female, transgender, child and adult, a body enhanced by technology or hybridized with other species.
This interactive digital installation tells her story, changing constantly in response to interactions with spectators and dancers.
Two years after Symphonie 5.1, Van Grimde Corps Secrets continues to pursue its choreographic, scientific and philosophical exploration of the boundaries of the body and its identity.
Walking among interactive panels, each visitor becomes one of the many faces of Eve 2050. Actors in this tale, spectators see their image recorded, transformed and broadcast live to all those present. In the evening the dancers join with the spectators in a live performance. Constantly evolving, the sound, imagery and choreography of the installation reveal multiple facets of the human body.
Solid Research
Eve 2050 is the result of years of research by Van Grimde Corps Secret and interviews with researchers, scientists, philosophers and specialists whose work is body-related. The choreographer Isabelle Van Grimde evokes in this piece reflections on the evolution of the body and knowledge acquired in the fields of plastic surgery, microbiology, anthropology and artificial intelligence. Eve 2050 weaves a poetic, multifaceted portrayal of the future of humanity —a future that is much closer than we realize.
Triptych
The wide-ranging Eve 2050 project unfolds in three creative chapters. After launching the web series in May 2018, the second and third parts of the piece will be presented at Agora de la danse: the Eve 2050 installation from September 19 to 22, 2018, followed by the Eve 2050 stage presentation in the fall of 2019.
